Category: Let's talk
So lets hear'em. From the nicest to the stinkiest. One of my most favorite if not my absolute favorite smells is baby powder. Anyone who knows me in person will tell you that's my scent of choice. On the oposit end is wet dog *turns green and covers mouth running to the bathroom*
hmmm, i like mint and lavender. very nice and calming.
also vanilla, fudge, the smell of the air after a rainfall, chips, any chocolate, any flowers.
smells i hate:
any type of nuts, carots and anything related to grown underground (apart from potatoes), coffee (really not sure why that one, but yeah), seawater, popcorn, aroplane food, animals and cheese.
the best smells are lily of the valley flowers, peony flowers, ocean breeze, spring rain, baking bread, coffee on a cold wintry morning, sweet clean babies, and puppies/kittens.
the worst oven cleaner, carpet glue, and dirty socks.
as for dogs if they eat decent food they don't stink when wet.
loll You wouldn't mind any of my cleaners I'm sure, except maybe the toilet bowl one cause it's strong pine. All are natural and don't have that nasty chemical smell. In any case, I love the smells of good tobacco (for cigarettes, dry pipes and arghiledes), coffee brewing, sweets while they're baking, summer rain, a spring day, oranges/tangerines, freshly baked bread, certain colognes, sautéing onions, various Greek teas and foods, Greek oregano, snow, the ocean, certain people (seriously, they have wonderful body scents), nagchampa and other incense, the roasted nuts with honey ontop that they make on Canal Street, certain smells in the mall or grocery store, wet soil, freshly sawed wood, new cars and leather. I hate sour crowt, rotting garbage, (vomit, mildew and Mom's salads (she uses tons of vinegar and this dressing in a gross-smelling combination.
does snow smell?. i can't say i ever noticed it.
Sort of. Ever tried eating it? It has kind of a smell. I love the scent of jasmine and moed grass. I like the smell of green in general really. You guys mentioned baking and beverages. I didn't even consider that. I mean of course I love the smell of food especially when I'm eating it lol. I would not, however want to buy fried chicken scent and wear it all day. About scented candles, I don't like candles that smell like apple or pumpkin pie or any kind of food! Its just such a tease for me. I hate the smell of puss. *gags* Why did I make this topic?
yes snow has a smell. it is a fresh clean smell and cold too. hard to describe.
My favorite smell is burning wood from a campfire. If they could put that smell in a perfume, I'd whare it all the time! I like the smell of roses and the rain. I can not stand the smell of gasoline! It just groses me right the hell out!
Leslie
love the smell of lavender, vanilla, popcorn, fudge, anything chocolate pretty much.
i hate the smell of hospitals. Ever notice that? You go in for surgery, and everything's so damn sterile and ... bleh ...
Haha! Not really, but I hate hospitals in general, so that might enclude the smell. Another scent I like is bazil, and I hate the smell of ass! Wash it for God sake!
Thanks for some really nasty images. Yuck. Anyway, wood does smell nice as does vanilla and popcorn. I like lavender but the real kind not the artificial stuff. Yeah, the smell of snow is very difficult to describe but clean and cold sounds about right. It's a very pleasant smell and mostly happens either when it's coming down or when there's a lot of it.
Ever smell dead rat? ewwwwww! This is kind of wierd, but I like the smell of some gasolines. Like if you're out and a car or more often a bus or truck pulls up close to you? Know what I mean?
Yeah, some can be nice. But some are just disgusting.
How do you guys feel about the smell of clothing shoe or toy stores? That kind of plastic smell. I like it. Usually the smell of brand new stuff lol. Oh yeah and brand new car smell. or leather. Now for the bad. I went to this camp thing when I was a teenager. Columbia University let us stay in their dorm and eat breakfast and dinner with them. On independence day they had activities planned for the whole day. All this did was wear us out cause it was hot and boring. Anyway we took a little break and came back to the dorm to freshen up and take pit stops. All of us girls in the bathroom doing our own thing when suddenly someone rushes into the stall next to me and the second the door slammed the whole place smelled like straight up fried fish! When she was done I was probably the only other person in there with her, and it was only because I couldn't finishe what I was doing fast enough!
joanne,
i hear you about the hospital thing. yeah i forgot to mention that.
okay, next time it's snowing i'll try smell it... lol
hate the smell of the shoe shop and stuff you mentioned, though i like the smell of the body shop, you know when you first walk through the door.
and iwww...fried fish?. gros..... iwwww!
Yep fried fish, and it sure as hell wasn't no fish fry! haha! I like the smell of those marks-a-lot markers. No, I don't sit there sniffing it!
my son's dirty feet are pretty darned disgusting especially after he takes of his work boots
Love the smell of rain.
Hate the smell of gasoline.
Pineapple and pine combs I love to smell, sweaty armpit and morning breath I love to hate smelling *breathes into her hand, frowns and heads straight for the bathroom*
I don't mind the smell of those stores but I can't say I love them. I mostly love the smell of things cooking, including frying fish, but smelling it in a bathroom sounds nasty.
About smelly feet, I've had the misfortune of incountering many a nacho cheese dogs and kicks. Funny how its ok when its actually tortilla chips but horrific when its coming from someone. Bath and body works had this scent they discontinued called brown sugar and fig. I loved it! Damn you, b&bw! A friend who went to school with me was very bubbly and confident. Her head was often held quite high, but whenever she talk to this particular schoolmate, or should I say whenever he would talk to her, that head went way'ay'ay'ay down! The guy had some otherworldly breath!
This is an odd one, but I love the way puppies smell. Especially labs or golden retrievers, because for some reason their fur has a particular scent, but a clean puppy or kitten is probably the most peaceful smell in the entire world.
Lilacs that are in bloom, fresh snow, cloves or clove cigarettes, baking cookies, hot apple pie filling, blankets out of the dryer.
I also love the smell you usually encounter when you first walk in to bookstores. I know that sounds odd, but ... yeah, I like that one. lol
Love the smell of garbage. Mmm I'd totally wear that.
